If you are not familiar with calligraphy, let me explain it in short. Calligraphy is a type of visual art. It is often called the art of fancy lettering. A contemporary definition of calligraphic practice is the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious and skillful manner.
Modern calligraphy ranges from functional hand-lettered inscriptions and designs to fine-art pieces where the abstract expression of the handwritten mark may or may not compromise the legibility of the letters.
Calligraphy fonts are one of my favorite. They are so original. One could think all the great looking calligraphic fonts are commercial, but take a look below. We put together a collection of 30 free Calligraphy Fonts. Aren’t these awesome? Enjoy!

I love calligraphy fonts. It makes up for the fact my handwriting’s not good enough for real calligraphy! From this collection I have Freebooter – which looks beautiful for words with lots of ascenders and descenders – and Scriptina.

Very beautiful fonts. ‘Hesperides’ and ‘Be Safe’ somehow have a kind of creepy feel due to their shapes and grunge edges. Suitable for horror movie titles
