Using stock photos in the design can save us a lot of time. Instead of hiring a photographer, you can instantly access high quality of stock photography by browsing through the stock photo websites.
There are a lot of websites offering stock photos. Some of them are free, while most of them aren’t. So, if you are going to use stock photos in your design, you have to be aware of the license and agreement that may be involved.

1. stock.xchng
Contains over 350,000 quality stock photos. You can easily get a quality and beautiful wallpaper for your desktop, or simply an illustration for your blog. The advanced search feature lets you easily search through the site for your desired image.
2. Studio7designs
Really nice collection of nature-inspired photography.
3. Woophy
Woophy is a community for travel photographers. The main page cntains a map with a lot of dots. Each dots represent images taken at that place.
4. freerange
This site provides tons of high quality and high resolution free stock photos. However, users are required to register before download. If you are looking for some high resolution textures, you can also visit this site.
5. PhotoEverywhere
Another great free stock photos site that collects and shares tourism images from around the world.

Basically, everystockphoto is an image search engine where it collects photos from various sources such as flickr, stock.xchng, Morguefile, Freerange Stock and etc. Make sure you view the license term before download them.
8. morgueFile
The morguefile filter has been designed to help you find images quickly and easily. You can browse these images by category. I like the filter feature as it really help to make search easier and faster.
9. Kave Wall
Images are categorized into 18 different categories for easy browsing.
10. CreatingOnline Stock Photos
The site offers both free and premium stock photos for download. More than 1000 photos are available for free in 400-600 pixels.
11. Dreamstime
Dreamstime lets you search through the gallery for more than 7,000,000 images. There are more than 1000 photos added weekly.
12. FreeDigitalPhotos.net
There are thousands of royalty free photos in this site, which mean you can use these photos for both corporate and personal use. While the photos are free, you are required to pay for the high resolution photos.
13. Turbo Photo
Browse through 2,000 free stock photos from 10 categories.
14. Shutterstock
Largest subscription based stock photos website. They have more than 9,000,00 royalty-free stock photos and around 70,000 new stock photos added each week.
15. 5000 Free Stock Photos
This website provides more than 500 free stock photos from public domain. Users are allowed to use these images fo any purpose, inlcuding commercial.
16. ImageBase
Free stock photos in 6 categories.
17. FreeImages.co.uk
FreeImages contains more than 3000 original stock photos.
18. FreePixels
Around 4k of images categorized in 40 categories.
19. Hoover Stock Photos
Hoover Stock Photos offers royalty free stock photos, backgrounds, illustrations, photo images, and digital art for use in personal and commercial web site design projects.
20. Photo Rack
Photo Rack is a place great place for you to browse and download free stock photos. These photos are cetegorized into 12 categories and different sub categories.
21. DesignPacks
DesignPacks offers high quality image colelctions that can be used in both personal and commercial projects. Each of the collection contains 15 images.
