Twitter is one of the most powerful social media tool. You can have an “One Line Bio” to describe yourself. But unfortunately, the “One Line Bio” is limited to maximum 160 characters. So, creative Twitter users started to use Twitter backgrounds to add more information about themselves.

I used freetwitterdesigner.com to do mine, but need to work on it… looks great when you have the right resolution to see images on both sides, otherwise the whole theme is lost

I like my own as well because the less distracting the better.
I like the simplicity of the Peer_Resources twitter background. Clean, informative, and adds to their purpose of being on Twitter.
I have to completely agree with Fiona Priestley’s comments on resolution and loosing the theme. You also loose the most of the margins (and anything they contain) when you enlarge the text (Ctrl+ in Mozilla based browsers)…as I must to actually read tweets. So while it’s all very pretty and creative, much of it is lost in actual usage by many people, and for a number of reasons.
