Dicky, thanks for featuring Comindwork in your round up of project management tools. I’d just like to add that we have a big amount of features available including advanced ones like custom processes creation, custom reporting, powerful file management. And users can enable/disable features as needed keeping the user interface simple and clean.
Thanks for sharing! As a creative agency, we use a robust program: http://bit.ly/9hQOdf Client and Profits. These programs above are very useful as we’re looking for something to compliment our robust program, to help with the smaller, everyday tasks.
PlanningForce has just released a new website dedicated to Express Premium for small businesses, http://www.planningforce-express.com
Our Windows-based tool, TaskMerlin, provides GTD-friendly project management for personal users and teams over an office network. See our online tour at http://www.taskmerlin.com/tour/start.aspx for more information.
Here’s one more

This is also good collection as your previous one “Blogging Tools”
I suggest you take a look at DeskAway. We have a free plan for freelancers and small teams. The upgrades are reasonable too.
hello, this may be useful, compiled here are over 90 project management tools for quick reference ..
The Marathon List of Project Management & Collaboration Tools (Over 90 Tools)
http://blog.decode10.com/2009/12/13/the-marathon-list-of-project-management-collaboration-tools/
How can you miss out Basecamp by 37 Signals? It has much wider usage than most if not all of the apps mentioned.
And it’s an awesome tool too.
i use project pier its free, you can host it your self and theres a great basecamp like skin for it.
I also like a tiny tool, IzzyTodo.com, it’s handy and helps to organize work a lot.
Good list!
Our company has been using http://www.doolphy.com for some time now and we’re very happy with it. The application is in Beta version and can be used for free. There is no limit in the number of users or the number of reports that can be created. It is helping us a lot with the management of our tasks. I recommend it.
Best regards.
I use Liquid Planner http://liquidplanner.com for project scheduling and collaboration. AFAIK, it’s the only SaaS PM tool that allows for realistic scheduling. That is, instead of choosing arbitrary “due dates” for tasks, Liquid Planner encourages realistic estimating by asking for both the Best Case and Worst Case estimates. Add a really fabulous user interface and you have a powerful and informative tool that helps you make good decisions.
So many to choose from, so many that did not make the list. Which is the best?
give ZCOPE a try … http://www.getzcope.com
best regards,
thomas
Incredible ! You forget basecamp !? http://www.basecamphq.com
I’m a big fan of Action Method ( http://actionmethod.com/ ) which didn’t make the list. Fantastic interface, iPhone app, free for non-profits, and built by designers for designers–it’s from the people behind http://Behance.net
Great list, upcoming is freedcamp.com a completely free project management solution!
+1 for for http://www.5pmweb.com.
You forgot to mention http://www.projectbubble.com it is amazing web app for project management and invoicing.. 100% FREE..!!
Thanks for sharing the list.
However, all the tools mentioned above are web solutions and it is well known that they cannot serve you well when you are dealing with big projects and numerous resources. This is because of the fact that most web pm tools have only the basic features which is insufficient for big projects.
Thus, here come in hand the well known desktop solutions that pretty much cover all the needs for this kind of projects: MS Project, Seavus Project Planner…
Great collection as always. Thanks
Here is another one and it’s FREE … for now

Awesome Post!
Thanks for the information that you have shared. Here is Side by side comparison of few of the PMP training providers as per my knowledge.

Hope this Helps!
Best
Rohit
I second Lisa’s recommendation of LiquidPlanner, for all the same great reasons. LiquidPlanner is also an excellent collaboration tool, so will have all the advantages of A Basecamp-like system with real scheduling tools that Basecamp and many others are lacking.
Can I also add to the mix http://manymoon.com? We use it everyday and love it — plus it has the big advantage of offering a ton of features for free.
This makes me laugh because the software my old agency spent thousands and thousands on is not in this list. Too bad they didn’t see this first.
I made this one of my three links on my Design Thought for the Day blog:
http://designthoughtfortheday.blogspot.com/2010/02/02-16-dpi-truth-web-design-101-project.html
All the best, Ted
Is the list ordered by importance of the tool (e.g. what you think is better?)
I’ve used a few of these like ClientSpot and Basecamp, but they all seem to have some minor flaws. I’ll have to dig deeper to see if any of these can meet all my requirements.
Awesome… I don’t know which to try first! I guess from the top huh
What about Redmine ? (cool, free and open source!) http://www.redmine.org/
Redmine is cool. Thanks for introducing it to us. It makes our list more complete!
You’re welcome Dicky.
We are using Redmine for years. We are also using it as a community portal for our open source projects: http://www.iptechinside.com/labs
Very good writing, Thanks for sharing! Just saw this inspirational quote and wish to share – “Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” Enjoy your day!
Haha, great quote! Yup i admit, we always make simple things complicated. Maybe due to our job stress?
What do you think of Activecollab ?
http://www.activecollab.com/
We use it since one year and it’s really good but it would like to implement Gantt charts or import MS Project File…
Hi Gobi,
So do you use any other project management tools? Do you compare Activecollab with others?
We never use Activecollab before. But from the pricing table an the release notes, seems like it is a good choice
Hi Dicky,
We worked a little with basecamp but I think Activecollab is more complete and you can buy a “standalone” PHP version that you can host on your own server, can be good if you’ve many projects and want to keep an eye on your files and setup backups.
You can record your timesheets, files sharing and it has a mobile stylesheet… many other features we don’t use yet.
We still use Merlin which is a project management software on Mac OSX (MS Project like) to build our Gantt Charts and then we create it in Activecollab.
We had spend time to choose that solution, try many demo of other softwares : e-groupware… and it’s the best solution for our business for the price.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I admit that the “standalone” PHP version will give you more controls and you can host everything on your own server. This is really good if you have a lot of projects. But i can’t find any link to the “standalone” version?
@Dicky : “Full source code is provided in both licenses, which means that you can tailor activeCollab® to fit your business needs perfectly.”

Hi,
Haha, didn’t notice it.
i hope so
Some good applications mentioned here.
Hopefully the next list you compile will include our application that was just recently released.
Crossing my fingers,
Drew
Hi Drew,
Thanks for sharing your site with us. Maybe it is too new and that’s why we can’t found it through Search Engine yet.
Thanks for including Wrike in your list! Just to let you know, we’re soon releasing an iPhone app, so more people can stay productive with Wrike even on the run.
Hi Daria,
Great news for iPhone user! How about Android App?
You can also try RationalPlan a project management software suite.
If you’d like a tool for managing your time and projects, you can use this application inspired by David Allen’s GTD:
http://www.Gtdagenda.com
You can use it to manage and prioritize your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
Comes with a mobile version too, and with an Android app.
Hi Dan,
Thanks for bringing this great tool to our readers. The best thing is that this tool comes with an Android App.
Try out the SaaS my3plive. Supports project models and methodologies!
Wrike is an absolute winner for me, great functionality and very intuitive interface. It’s so handy to have all the workflow in one place, nothing gets lost.
Thanks for the info, I have been using #8 ProWorkFlow for a while. I recommend it.
Wow thanks so much for including us! We’re glad to be a part of such a great list.
Cheers!
