  1. At the back-end part of your WordPress website, you will see that there are lists of menus on the left part of your screen. It includes “Plugins.” Hover your mouse on the “Plugins” menu to see the submenus. You may also click the “Plugins” to let you see all the plug-ins installed on your website.
  2. You will see the “Add New” as a part of submenus by hovering on the “Plugins” menu. You will see the “Add New” button beside the “Plugins” header if you choose to click the “Plugins” menu. Click the “Add New” submenu.
  3. After clicking, you will be directed to the page where you can see all the paid and free plug-ins that you can add to your site. You can choose to scroll down to look for the Contact Form 7 or use the search field to look for the said plug-in easily.
  4. After seeing the plug-in, you will see the button “Install Now.” Just simply click the “Install Now” button.
  5. After clicking the “Install Now” button, you will be directed to a page where you will be given two options, whether you want to activate the plug-in or just return to the plug-in installer.
  6. After the activation, you will be redirected to the site where all your plug-ins are. You should see the Contact Form 7 there too.
  7. Click the settings just below the name of the Contact Form 7 or you can click “Contacts” on the left side menu.
  8. You should see a shortcode that you must copy.
  9. Go to your website’s contact page and paste the code.
  10. By checking your website’s appearance, you should see the contact form that has been added.

Therefore, you need to have a MailChimp account and integrate your Contact Form 7 to your MailChimp’s mailing lists through the contact form 7 MailChimp extension.

Here is how to do it

  1. Just like how you added your Contact Form 7 on your WordPress plug-in, you can add the contact form 7 MailChimp extension in almost the same way. Go to the “Plugins” menu and click the “Add New” button.
  2. You will be redirected to the page where you can select the plugins that you would like to add. You can scroll down or look for the extension on the search field. If you prefer to choose the search field, you can type “cf7 MailChimp.” Make sure to select the one that says,” contact form 7 MailChimp extension.”
  3. Click the “Install Now” button.
  4. Click the “Activate” button.
  5. You will be redirected to the “Edit Contact Form” page. You should see “MailChimp” in one of the tabs.  
  6. On the MailChimp tab, you will see that there is a form that will require you to input details like the “MailChimp API Key,” “MailChimp List ID,” “Subscriber Email,” and more. Therefore, you obviously must have a MailChimp account to make the most out of this plug-in.
  7. If you already have a MailChimp account, sign-in to get the API key.
  8. On the top-right side of the screen, you will see a drop-down selection. Click the drop-down and select account.
  9. You will be directed to your account’s page where you should see a few menus like the “Overview,” “Settings,” “Billing,” “Extras,” and more. Select the “Extras” and choose the API keys.
  10. You will be taken to the API keys page. Scroll down a little bit, and you should see the “Your API Keys” sub-header. You should see the “Create a Key” button underneath. Click the “Create a Key” button.
  11. The site will generate a unique API key for you which are under the “Your API Keys” sub-header. Copy this key.
  12. Go back to WordPress and paste this key in the “MailChimp API Key” field.
  13. To fill up the “MailChimp List ID,” go back to MailChimp. In one of the MailChimp’s site’s menus on the topmost part, you should see the “Lists” menu and click it.
  14. On the top-right side, there is the “Create List” button. Click it. You may also choose in one of your already created lists. Make sure that you are on your lists selection menu and click the drop-down button beside the list that you want to add on your WordPress site. Select “Settings.”
  15. You will be taken to the settings page. Just scroll down until you see your list’s ID, then copy it.
  16. Paste it on the “MailChimp List ID” field on the WordPress site.
  17. For the “Subscriber Email” field. Just look at the codes in small letters underneath the field. Copy “[your mail]” or type it directly in the field.
  18. For the “Subscriber Name” field. You can just copy “[your name]” or type it directly in the field.
  19. Click the “Save” button in the most bottom part of the page.
  20. After saving, you should see the shortcode of your contact form just above the tabs. Copy this code.
  21. Paste it in one of the pages where you want your contact form to appear.

 

With this extension, you can send your customer’s email in one of your new or already created e-mail lists on MailChimp. This tool is especially important if you want to receive the emails of your new subscribers and add them to your mailing lists. It can also make the email organization easier.
